Blurb: Sweet, romantic, perfectly formed coffee break reads. I loved them.’ – Best-selling author, Carmel Harrington
Every Happily Ever After began with a Once Upon a Time…
It’s not the deliciously sweet cakes that draw Lily to the bakery every day. It’s the person selling them…
A gorgeously romantic short story, part of The Meet Cute series.
Review: I truly love Katey Lovell’s writing and the meet cute series are truly adorable. On Sunday I had to work and it was an exhaustingly sweaty day. I had felt increasingly frustrated and in some ways helpless to my work life situation. I have been walking a lot more but as it has been a long and extremely hot day I hopped on the bus and whilst hydrating myself once again I delve into the meet cute – The Boy at the Bakery.
From the off I liked Lily – I’m pretty sure if I met her she would have been a friend. She sounds real as in she’s a real woman with curves and she sounds nice as she helps her colleagues although she has an ulterior motive. In taking her colleagues order she gets to see Cole the boy who has stolen her heart. She’s convinced he would never look twice at a girl like her.
Cole – looks like he has come straight from the pages of a magazine or billboard. Which means I’m instantly intrigued and in awe of him.
I won’t be spoiling the details but the exchange between them when the Bakery is empty lifted my heart and gave me a sense of hope. Sometimes that person who catches your eye may have also been having the same thoughts. Never underestimate the power of you. That’s a hugely positive statement from me. Of late I have been a lot happier since my own personal journeys, but my love life is a whole different story.
So thank you once again Katey Lovell for truly inspiring me. These novellas are great little coffee break treats – so if you haven’t read any of these then what are you waiting for.
