Cover Reveal: The Gift Of Happiness By Holly Martin

Today I am pleased to be a part of the reveal of Holly Martin’s latest book. I’ve done a few of these for Holly and I’m always happy and honoured to help her when she sends an email through….so the initial reveals have been happening over on Twitter today at 12pm and at 6pm which is why I’m posting my blog post now.

Isn’t it gorgeous?

I have to admit I feel like a bit of a fraud as I have a few of Holly’s books but I’ve not actually read any of them. Where should I start? Or should I wait for this beauty in October. It’s released on 25th October.

Cover Reveal: Coming Home to Glendale Hall By Victoria Walters

Today I am overjoyed to share the gorgeous cover for Victoria Walters festive offering.

I don’t like wishing the year away but I honestly love this woman’s writing and cannot wait to get festive with her new book. I think a festive coffee and a cinnamon swirl may have to accompany me though.

What do you think?

So I’m going to tease you a little longer with some information on the book before sharing said beauty.

Blurb: No matter how far you go, home is where the heart is.

Beth Williams hasn’t been home for ten years. After falling pregnant at sixteen, she ran away from the imposing Scottish estate where she grew up rather than risk her family’s disapproval, working hard to build a life for herself and daughter Isabelle– but now she’s finally returning to Glendale Hall.

As Beth tries to mend her broken family ties, and fights to bring the community of Glendale back together, she soon realises that the story she has told herself for a decade might well be a very different one from the truth. Even though she ran from Glendale it has never left her heart. And, she soon realises, neither has Drew – Beth’s first love.

Will Beth be able to forgive her mother and grandmother (and herself) for what happened ten years ago? What will Drew say when he discovers the secret she’s been keeping from him for so long?

Can a festive trail bring the village back together? Will Christmas work it’s magic on Glendale – or will Beth be forced to run away from it all over again?

This absolute beauty is released on 25/09/2019 and I’ve already pre-ordered mine. Click here to get yours

Sorry that I’m a little late to the party WordPress issue but I’m here now.

How bloody gorgeous is this treat….

Cover Reveal: The Christmas Wish List By Heidi Swain

I haven’t even devoured her latest yet but within a few days from her last publication Heidi Swain is back with news. Today she has shared with us a truly gorgeous cover for her festive novel that will be available in October 2019. I have a few of her festive ones and I’m not sure if I’ve read them all but I’m a huge fan of Heidi’s and her covers are always stunning and the content will leave me wanting more.

Blurb: After being let go from her job in a swanky hotel just weeks before Christmas, Hattie is feeling lost. Even more so when her high-flying boyfriend announces he’s landed his dream job in Abu Dhabi and asks her to move with him. Luckily, Hattie’s long-time friend Dolly is on hand to help and invites Hattie to spend one last holiday in the small, festive town of Wynbridge, determined to give her a Christmas to remember . . .

Upon Hattie’s arrival, holiday preparations are in full swing. But for Hattie, whose Christmas cheer has long since run out, it’ll take more than mince pies and mistletoe to open her heart to the season once more. Relishing the task of reigniting Hattie’s Christmas spirit, Dolly suggests they create a wish list of all the things the season can offer, and with the helpful hands of Wynbridge’s resident handyman, Beamish, Hattie finds her frosty exterior is starting to thaw.

As Wynbridge prepares for its most spectacular Christmas yet, will Hattie leave snowy England behind for life in a sunnier clime, or will she in fact realise that her heart’s desire lies much closer to home?

Heidi it’s stunning and I cannot wait to start my Christmas festivities with you and the Wynbridge crew.

Blog Tour: A Little Christmas Charm By Kathryn Freeman

Now before I talk of anything to do with this blog tour I need to mention how fabulous Kathryn Freeman is. She’s been so supportive of me as a blogger especially of late when I’ve felt extremely belittled. As soon as this book was announced I knew I had to make sure it was in my festive reading. I’ve loved Kathryn’s brooding males although Owen is a totally different breed but I will get to that later.

I’m ashamed to say I still have a number of her books in my ever expanding TBR.

Blurb: Would you swap sea and sunshine for tinsel and turkey?
Gabby Sanderson is used to being let down – even at Christmas. Which is why she’s happy to skip the festive season completely in favour of a plane ticket and sunnier climes.

But this Christmas could be different, because this time she might not be spending it alone. Can Owen Cooper charm Gabby into loving Christmas in the same way he’s charmed his way into her life, or is he just another person who’ll end up disappointing her?

Review: Now I’m not sure how I can truly do this festive treat justice? I will also do my utmost to not ruin the story.

From the off I warmed to both Gabby and Owen the banter and camaraderie along the way had me smiling and laughing out loud a lot. I loved seeing these two blossom and the many hurdles that they had to overcome but did they? I hear you say. You will have to read it to find out. I adore Christmas especially as an auntie to five but I love how Kathryn has encompassed how Christmas should be with traditions etc etc and how that is not always the case for all families.

I cannot begin to understand Gabby’s childhood but I know it happens. The other aspect that Kathryn has done amazingly well is that of grief. We lost my Nan to Cancer which is partly my reasoning for working for Cancer Research.

Christmas is a time of reflection I always have Boxing Day as another family day as that was when we visited Nan & Grandad I miss them terribly especially then but just like Owen & Sidney life goes on and we would be doing a disservice to their memories.

Kathryn manages to write a love story amongst a Christmas tale that will have you swooning for your very own dreamboat. Owen is completely different to the men I have read of hers before and not only making Gabby laugh he had me on tender hooks. There were so many character duos that I loved in this book.

Kathryn please please take us back to these again.

A Little Christmas Charm is everything you want in a festive read and more so much so I went straight into Costa and got a Gingerbread latte….this has really got me in the mood for the festive season even though I’m as stressed as the next person in regards to spending – as ever we probably all spend too much but I love making people’s day.

Do make sure you check out the rest of this truly fabulous tour for one of my most favourite authors.

Author Bio –

A former pharmacist, I’m now a medical writer who also writes romance. Some days a racing heart is a medical condition, others it’s the reaction to a hunky hero.

With two teenage boys and a husband who asks every Valentine’s Day whether he has to buy a card (yes, he does), any romance is all in my head. Then again, his unstinting support of my career change proves love isn’t always about hearts and flowers – and heroes come in many disguises.

Blog Tour: Snowflakes and Cinnamon Swirls at the Winter Wonderland By Heidi Swain

Better late than never I’ve been sooo excited by this gorgeous book and my oh my it did not disappoint. So without further ado.

Blurb: After calling off her engagement, Hayley, the Wynthorpe Hall housekeeper, wants nothing more than to return to her no-strings fun-loving self, avoiding any chance of future heartbreak. Little does she know, Wynbridge’s latest arrival is about to throw her plan entirely off course . . .

Moving into Wynthorpe Hall to escape the town’s gossip, Hayley finds herself immersed in the eccentric Connelly family’s festive activities as they plan to host their first ever Winter Wonderland. But Hayley isn’t the only new resident at the hall. Gabe, a friend of the Connelly’s son Jamie, has also taken up residence, moving into Gatekeeper’s Cottage, and he quickly makes an impression on Wynbridge’s reformed good-girl.

As preparations commence for the biggest event of the season, the pair find themselves drawn ever closer to one another, but unbeknownst to Hayley, Gabe, too, has a reason for turning his back on love, one that seems intent on keeping them apart.

Under the starry winter skies, will Gabe convince Hayley to open her heart again once more? And in doing so, will he convince himself? ~*~

Review: Long before I’d read a single word of any of Heidi’s books I was a fan of the lady herself. Heidi is a people person who instantly puts you at ease in her presence. Not only does she put you at ease she makes you feel like you’ve known her forever. So when her festive feel good treat came up I jumped at the chance of being on the tour. I had hoped to have read this with many a Cinnamon swirl but that didn’t happen. Just like her previous novel I ended up listening to it even though I have a paperback too which looks truly gorgeous on my shelf. It’s the second time I’ve listened to Karen Cass and I must admit I really am a fan of hers also, if you’ve read my blog before I have listened to some really good and really bad audiobooks but this sure was a hit. When a woman can have a variation of voices well that’s a win in my book.

So Snowflakes and Cinnamon Swirls at the Winter Wonderland takes readers back to Wynbridge I had hoped to have devoured last years festive treat before diving into this but in Hayley style that didn’t happen.

I am looking forward to going back to it as I was pretty taken with my namesake – Hayley is a loveable character who I was rooting for from the off. Without spoiling any finer details her life changes quite quickly and dramatically early on into this novel. I just loved how she picked herself up and realised a lot more about herself. Which is something I’ve done in my life this year also.

What I truly love about Heidi Swain’s writing is how she creates a community you wish you were a part of. The characters from Wynthorpe Hall are an eclectic mix who feel like family.

In this gorgeous Christmas tale she has also touched on loss – the festivities often have us thinking of our loved ones who are no longer with us, and Gabes story really hit home for me. It’s hard to carry on and to smile when you’re grief stricken for a loved one and I totally understand that not in the same way he did though.

A sparkling tale that will leave you reminiscing of times gone by, looking forward to the future and reaching for a pastry. Heidi Swain has it all drama, blossoming romance, villains, you name it she’s got it.

This is the second story that I’ve read of late with a Hayley she’s also not really like me but she did make me smile from head to toe. If you’re looking for a book to get lost in this Christmas look no further.

Book Review: A Christmas Wedding By Paige Toon

Blurb: The short story eBook sequel to Thirteen Weddings, from bestselling author Paige Toon.

Four years ago, following that fated thirteenth wedding, Bronte fled the UK and has been happily burying her head in the sand ever since. But when an email lands in her inbox from Alex, it seems her past might be about to catch up with her right here in Sydney. Is it time for Bronte to finally face her demons?

Review: I can’t believe I’m actually finishing this review before I do Thirteen Weddings justice. I was lucky enough to meet Paige earlier this year at YALC and we spoke about me needing to catch up on Thirteen Weddings before devouring her Christmas offering. I listened to Thirteen Weddings and truly adored it, I will review it as soon as possible. I always feel like I will never do it justice. I love that I still have a fair few of Paige’s gorgeous books to devour I will enjoy every second of them.

Where do I start….I had such a mixture of emotions in both books for Alex and Lachie just like Bronte but A Christmas Wedding had me from the off. I’m so annoyed that I didn’t inhale this treat when it pinged through on release day but I will say it’s been totally worth the wait. I started reading it in between a busy day but I must admit I have enjoyed longing it out slightly.

It was great to reconnect with Bridget and all the characters from Thirteen Weddings alongside the newer characters although there were a few I weren’t fond off Fliss for one.

Paige has a way of writing emotional scenes that leave me breathless. I find myself breathing out realising I had been holding my breath momentarily.

Now I’ve read both Thirteen Weddings and a Christmas Wedding I can see why there was outrage originally. I kind of agree but I must admit I had a rollercoaster of emotions for both men in this novella. Although one came across far more gently and thoughtful than the other – and at times in Thirteen Weddings I had thought the opposite.

A gorgeous festive read that will sweep you along and take you away from you own stresses in life. It can be read alone but some references you won’t get if you haven’t read Thirteen Weddings.

Paige thank you once again for enhancing my belief in love, even though it’s elusive for me right now. Another rollercoaster read that I truly truly loved.

So Paige and Cat the final question is what Paige book next?

Little Women…

Firstly, I hope you had a fantastic Christmas with your loved ones.

I’m sorry I have been a bit on/off with my blogmas attempt, but I am grateful to every comment, like and follow since I have tried. My views have improved which means I’m obviously saying something worthwhile.

How I’m still awake, and how I managed to watch this and think of something to say is outstanding. I got up seriously early this morning to brave the sales to start with as help and then for me. I had fun in a weird way if I’m honest. No books sadly, not yet anyway.

Watching Little Women this evening has prompted me to ask….have you read it? And what are your thoughts on the book by Louisa May Alcott.

I must admit this is a classic that I downloaded a while ago but have still not got around to.

Next year I would like to do better with my classic reading so this should feature. I have seen a mixture of comments regarding tonight’s first instalment of the BBC’s adaptation. I must admit I enjoyed it but I have nothing to compare it to – it has made me want to push this novel up my TBR list though, so in that instance the TV show has worked it’s magic.

What are your thoughts? I aim to be back tomorrow although I am back at work so anything is possible.

Book Review: Random Acts Of Kindness part one By Victoria Walters

Blurb: Welcome to Littlewood, a small town community with a big heart. Abbie has fled London and the humiliation of not being able to make rent after being made redundant. Louise, seriously unlucky in love, has thrown herself into her career at the local hospital. And Eszter, who has travelled from Hungary with her daughter, Zoe, hopes to reach out to the mother-in-law she never met while her husband was still alive…

Can a little bit of kindness really change your life? Three very different women are about to find out…

Review: I believe this four part series was introduced to me via Twitter. As soon as I had read the blurb I had pre-ordered, this was exactly the sort of read I needed at this point in my life and in December it’s good to remember the reasons we do things and that we should do a little more, for ourselves as well as for others.

I instantly fell in love with everything associated with Littlewood and I’m not going to lie – I wish I had a coffee shop like Brew with the heart warming owners. I’m seriously sad that I don’t have that. It’s nice when you go in a coffee shop and they remember you and have banter and stuff but I long for the homely feel. Joy and Harry are gorgeous and their kindness board is so heart warming – in this day and age I need and want more of that.

Abbie and Louise are amazing characters and I warmed to them both really quickly. They both have issues and lots going on that the other doesn’t know about but I can safely say they’re fab and their kindness pact made me smile. Anyway so this is the first part which sets the scene to the story and introduces us to everyone. Now Abbie is introduced to kindness right at the off when she mislays her bag and a fellow newcomer to Littlewood picks it up and gives chase (well follows ha).

Que Eszter and Zoe – now these two make you smile but also make you go cold with their reasons for coming to England, Littlewood.

All that’s left to say is part one is left right in the action and I simply cannot wait to return to Littlewood and see how this pans out.

So now I have devoured part one I’m eager for part two BUT I also realise that I need to be kinder to myself. So in 2018 I am going to be kinder to me – do more for me? And I aim to deliver something kind on a more regular basis and I shall share what I have done.

The lovely peeps at BATC gave me a printed version of part one and I loved this so much that I must share it so answer this question.

Tell me the kindest thing you have ever done for someone else. Totally selflessly…

I can feel a post coming on for before the New Year starts. Feeling inspired 🙂

Book and a Brew goodies…

So today I hoped to have posted a review but tomorrow I will make sure it happens.

My work day was kind of crazy and the evening has ran away from me. I’m currently reading a buddy read of You, Me, Everything which comes out next year and OMG it’s amazing.

So instead I want to talk to you about what I treated myself to. I have been wanting to purchase a Book and a Brew for ages and when I saw the Christmas box pop up I knew I had to.

I’m over the moon with my goodies. I didn’t know what to expect and I can safely say I will definitely be ordering again….I adore my gorgeously festive treats and can’t wait to get stuck in.

If like me you love books and tea then be sure to check it out http://www.bookandabrew.com/

Christmas Traditions…..

Firstly so so sorry for missing yesterday. I haven’t been feeling great of late and if I’m brutally honest it’s kind of worried me. I had quite a productive reading day yesterday morning and later in the day I met my bestie for a gig – which sure was fun. I was meant to post but it slipped my mind and by the time I realised it was too late. Anyway thank you to everyone who voted on my poll on Twitter – so I decided to try and combine both something about me and Christmas and here it is.

This book has been in my family for as long as I can remember and the spine shows the love it has seen. We used to read this every Christmas Eve and now my sister reads it to my niece. So the tradition continues…..

What traditions do you have or have you had for Christmas?
