Stacking the Shelves – Holiday Edition

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme co hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality. Stacking the Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can add any books that you add to your shelves, whether you’ve bought them been sent them or borrowed them from the library. And then be sure to post your links over on Tynga’s Reviews.

Firstly, I’m so sorry for the lack of updates this week. It’s been a full on week working Monday to Friday ahead of heading to the coast for two weeks. Alongside my news that I will be leaving Cancer Research this September and heading back to The O2. I’ve worked in the building before but this time around I’ll be at the bright lights of Cineworld and I cannot wait for my next chapter and a new challenge.

I’m hoping to finish Rewind today if I can.

I’ve also started listening to an extremely fun audiobook.

I love that Sophia is reading this and I downloaded this based on hearing her read the prologue and it was just as funny on the second listen.

Whilst on my holiday I’m hoping to buddy read this with the fabulous Cat. I love reading alongside her and I still haven’t penned my thoughts on a Miranda Dickinson’s latest I’m hoping to have my review up on publication day.

I’ve heard so many good things about this one. I had been meaning to grab a copy then one was donated into the Cancer Research shop where I work and I was like mine. This will be one of my paperback reads.

Last night I finally opened my brand new Kindle Paperwhite. I got it when it was on offer back in November time but as I was undertaking exams it’s sat awaiting my attention. Finally I decided to unwrap my new toy and wow wow wow! It’s so light and sleek.

I’m also hoping to read….

I’m being extremely ambitious as I won’t only be reading my nieces and nephew won’t let me only read…..although is there anything I must add.

Stacking the Shelves

As promised once again here’s a second blog post from lil ole me.

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme co hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality. This means you can add any books that you add to your shelves, whether you’ve bought them been sent them or borrowed them from the library. Since discovering Stacking the Shelves I’ve tried to add this as often as I can into my posts. It’s also made me realise what I’ve been longing to read.

So these are the Shelves I’m hoping to get through in August. I’m away for two weeks at the end of August so I’m hoping to get a lot of reading done and I cannot wait.

Buddy read with the fabulous Catriona

I’m hoping to have an impressive reading month so here’s a few that I hope to read. There maybe a few others too depending on my mood and if I manage it. There may also be some short reads.

Is there a book that you think deserves to be on my shelf? This is kind of optimistic as some months I get distracted by other things I’m hoping my time off gives me more reading time.

Last Saturday we looked at my Netgalley shelf which has risen a few since then now we are to look at my Kindle shelf. I will only be picking a handful otherwise this post could go on for eternity.

Have you read any of these? As ever this is just a snapshot of my Kindle library…

Stacking the Shelves – my Netgalley shelf

I’ve been looking for other inspirations for the blog and I stumbled upon this.

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme co hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality. Stacking the Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. So for my first Stacking the Shelves post this week I am looking at what’s on my Netgalley shelf.

This gorgeous treat has been sat on my Netgalley shelf for a short while I’m itching to read it but I’m trying to time it right, if that makes sense. Not sure whether to save for my holiday at the end of August and first week of September- it’s out whilst I’m away so maybe at the beginning of my time off.

This one grabbed my attention via the Netgalley email although I should have read it already. Hoping to bump it up.

I’ve read a short from Veronica and have been meaning to read more from her. I’ve heard such good things about this one that I simply couldn’t resist hoping to read this after my current read and get it up for publication day if possible.

This is one of those reads that when you start looking at Netgalley you have to have.

Seeing the lovely Harriet from Simon & Schuster at Louise Candlish’s launch she spoke of this and my interest was piqued it maybe my next Thriller.

I love and hate Netgalley I am trying to get better but my willpower isn’t great. I have a few of Tammy Cohen’s on my ever expanding pile this will be the next I read.

I keep checking my shelf to see if I’ve been accepted for this one. I read the first chapter last Sunday and I need it in my life. If I’m not accepted I will be pre-ordering so it comes through on midnight of release day.

Another that I keep checking for on Netgalley – pretty annoyed on this one. I had requested before the email about the first 100 readers and still nothing. I’m a huge fan of Louise’s and I will download if I don’t hear anything.

I hope you have enjoyed my first Stacking the Shelves. I would love to hear what you think I should do next. I’m thinking possibly an audio Stacking the Shelves or a specific author maybe a Daphne Du Maurier….

I’m open to suggestions and cannot wait to hear from you.
