Throwback Thursday – Midweek Reading Roundup back where it began.

Throwback Thursday meme is hosted by Renee@It’s Book Talk and is a way to share some of your old favorites as well as sharing books that you’re FINALLY getting around to reading that were published over a year ago. You know, the ones waiting patiently on your TBR list while you continue to pile more titles on top of them! These older books are usually much easier than new releases to get a hold of at libraries and elsewhere. If you have your own Throwback Thursday recommendation feel free to jump on board and connect back to Renee’s blog.

I wasn’t sure where to take this but my Midweek Reading Roundup’s do seem to do well. I enjoyed yesterdays post. So here I am sharing the first one I ever shared on Hayley Reviews and you can read that post here.

What else would you like to see not only on the blog but on these Throwback Thursday posts?

As predicted it’s been a bit stormy here this morning. The sound of raindrops on the caravan has been kind of soothing. I’m currently sat in bed with my coffee and my audiobook. It’s my sisters birthday today and it’s usually spent at the beach as it stands it’s wet so that won’t be happening this morning at least.

Weekly Update #77

Happy Saturday all.

So it’s been a week at the seaside for me.

So where do I begin in updating you….it’s been a bit of a better week in terms of blog posting and in finishing books. I’ve finished my audiobook and short story both were great.

This may well be my absolute fave Taylor Jenkins Reid novel and I posted my review yday and you can read it here.

I also finished reading these fab short stories thanks to Netgalley. My review for this one will be up as soon as.

I may have also finished listening to this short…this will be on the blog in the coming week also.

I’ve already shared my review of Carrie Soto but what else was on the blog this week.

My thoughts on the Honeymoon Crashers was penned this week and you can read that here.

I also shared a Top Ten Tuesday post that you can read here.

I’ve been in a bit of a Taylor Jenkins Reid mood of late. So my Throwback Thursday of this week is right back where it started for me. You can read that here.

Last Saturday I left you saying I would be watching the Lionesses on Saturday they won and on Wednesday they won so tomorrow brings us to the final of the World Cup. 🏆 Tottenham’s first game since Harry wasn’t the worst but sadly we only gained a point. As I’m away I won’t be there today but one of my girls will be taking care of my seat. As long as we get the win I’ll be fine.

I’ve wore my red top for every game so far…can’t change it now.

Audiobooks in the sunshine have made me smile. Haven’t got a run in just yet but have walked into town a few times this week.

As ever, please let me know if there is anything you would like to see on the blog? I will aim to get a Midweek Reading Roundup in on Wednesday of next week. Have a few thoughts to get up but thinking I’ll get back to one of these.

Seeing as I’ve started both 🤣. I will also get another audiobook on the go. Have a good week all next Saturday I’ll be heading homeward but hopefully I’ll have lots to share.

Throwback Thursday – Taylor Jenkins Reid. What was my first read of hers?

Throwback Thursday meme is hosted by Renee@It’s Book Talk and is a way to share some of your old favorites as well as sharing books that you’re FINALLY getting around to reading that were published over a year ago. So here we are at Thursday and I thought a throwback would be apt. I’m currently almost finished listening to Carrie Soto so I thought what better throwback than my first ever Taylor Jenkins Reid novel.

Which was Daisy Jones and the Six.

Have you read it? Also have you watched the series? I’m still to watch it but I’m told it’s very well done. Sometimes I hate films and series for books especially when they aren’t true to the book I loved.

My Review

I’m really loving Carrie Soto and the fact I had kind of briefly met her In Malibu Rising, has only added to my experience. Although it also proves we can easily judge a character for the wrong reasons. I love Tennis although she’s made me feel unfit ha. I will get back to my running soon. I have my running trainers with me so there will be time during my time away.

When I read Daisy Jones & the Six I said I would read the short – I didn’t. But I now have that as an audio as well as an ebook. I may listen to that next before I start the audiobook I was meant to start before Carrie Soto pinged through onto my Libby library.

Initially I promised you guys a Throwback Thursday post last week but those headaches took over. So I had zero brain power to go back through the archives and to create something. Today I’m just as tired but not feeling as headachey, so here I am…

Yesterday I posted my latest review of the last book I finished. Love Me Do by the fabulous Lindsey Kelk. In trawling through the archives it made me think of her other novels that I’ve loved. So I’ve decided to share a few of those thoughts.

So today I was hoping to share a review of a recent read. But on my final run of Couch to 5k week 4 run 3 the final run of week 4. It got me thinking once again about my running journey.

I’ve said it so many times and I will continue to say it as I wholeheartedly believe it. Running well and truly saved me during one of the most anxious and agonising times in my life. Of late I’ve had some strains and getting back out there has really helped. Today I undertook the final run of week 4 in the sunshine. At times the sun made it seem hard but I had resilience and determination to get through and there were a few of those 3 and 5min runs that felt so good. It’s empowered me once again.

So I will be sharing an old piece on my running journey and you can read that here. A few pictures from today’s run…

Throwback Thursday – it’s been a while.

I’m not entirely sure if what I’m going to say is 100%, but this could be the very first Throwback Thursday that I penned here at Hayley Reviews back in 2020 and you can re-read that post and the links via that post here.

It’s madness to see how many of my old posts get regularly viewed like even today and this week.

Obviously you always expect the most recent post to be viewed more but it’s astounding. Sometimes I’m wondering how said post is found?. Even on my Twitter account I noticed this tweet with a link from 2020 was liked.

I know it’s been a while since I did a Throwback Thursday my apologies but do let me know what sort of content you would like to see in the comments? If I can get more organised this could come back quite regularly just like the Midweek Reading Roundup which I loved putting together the past two weeks.

Weekly Update #65

Happy Saturday all.

I’ve been a bit more organised this week and it’s helped. Granted when I have certain days off I really do lose what day it is. It’s been a mostly productive working week which is great and makes the days go by well. Following the last week being somewhat hectic it’s been a bit more chilled this week.

On Wednesday I attended the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the Champions League game against AC Milan. I won’t go into that too much as I have penned a post that tells all.

Received this beauty this week out in July..

So what’s been on the blog? It’s been another bumper week where I post every single day, see when I’m organised this happens. I even posted twice on Thursday but that was purely due to pent up energy and frustration. I needed an outlet and I’m very proud of that post I must say.

On Sunday I shared my review on Miranda Dickinson’s All My Love, a story that wholeheartedly stole my heart and you can read that review here.

On Monday I shared my March TBR I didn’t add too much and as it stands I haven’t rectified the lack of headphones. You can read that post here.

On Tuesday I shared a Top Ten Tuesday post that you can read here.

Wednesday was International Women’s Day and I had to mark that occasion in the only way I know how. You can read that post here.

On Thursday I ended up posting two posts as I was full of such pent up energy I needed to let those words out. So you firstly got a Throwback Thursday that you can read here. And then I shared my thoughts on The Beautiful Game that you can read here.

If you’re a regular here at Hayley Reviews you’ll know that Friday posts are a bit hit and miss. But this week I shared my thoughts on The Thursday Murder Club and you can read that here.

On my way again this time for a league game fingers crossed it’s a better one. The weather is so that’s a start.

I also have to just talk football a little bit more before I get back to my book and let you get back to your day. It’s outstanding the solidarity for Gary Linekar just proving how much football means. I feel like lots will tune in to see what happens for MOTD with no presenters and no Football Focus – would have missed that anyway as I’m on route to the Lane. Have a good weekend all.

Throwback Thursday- International Women’s Day

So seeing as it was International Women’s Day yesterday I thought it would be apt to share past posts on the day honouring women like myself. Granted I think we should consistently be empowering each other daily.

In scrolling through the archives I found two posts one from 2018 and one from 2021. Up first is that one from 2021 and you can read that here. The other from 2018 you can read here.

Until next time that’s another Throwback Thursday….

Weekly Update #62

Happy Saturday beauties I’m so sorry this is coming rather late in the day. Was on a late shift and to say I’m exhausted is an understatement.

It’s been quite a week although in saying that there aren’t loads of photos from the week, but it’s been enlightening to say the least. I’ve managed to post every single day of this week and I’m super chuffed at that. So lots of posts to share I’ve also had some gorgeous book post although I haven’t taken pics of them all and I’m already out the house. I’ve been added to a few March blog tours and I’m extremely excited about that.

This is the truly gorgeous thank you pack that SJ from Simon & Schuster sent me for taking part in the Valentines #RespectRomFic post that I will be sharing again in this post.

The audio reading hasn’t been as productive since the lack of headphones but I have started listening to.

Very early stages but as ever she has had me laughing out loud. I will dedicate some time to this in the next coming week.

So what’s been on the blog this week?

On Sunday I took part in another fabulous Six for Sunday post and you can read that here. I love looking at these stacks although almost always I haven’t read all of them.

On Monday I shared my thoughts on Prince Harry’s Spare this has been quite a popular one this week and you can read it here.

Tuesday was Valentine’s Day and I was pleased to take part in the #RespectRomFic movement. I also managed to finish reading The Daughter in Law the review of that one will be up tomorrow. You can read my Valentine’s post here.

On Wednesday I shared a different post about poetry with an extract from a book. You can read that here.

Thursday’s seem to be for Throwbacks and you can read my latest one here.

Friday saw me actually post although I confused myself as I had written it and hadn’t realised I hadn’t actually posted it until later in the day. It was my review on the collection of poems and A Heart Lighter Than a Feather here.

That’s pretty much it…ooooh actually I lie. On Monday I got out and ran it wasn’t pretty but it was a start..

I also managed to spend some much needed time with the girls…that completes my week as I’m onward to work once again. Until next time…

Throwback Thursday – Dryathlon with a twist. Life really is a rollercoaster…

Today I’m taking you back to a rollercoaster time in my life.

My heart is well and truly on my sleeve in this post. Following the trolling I suffered so badly on Hayleyslilworld I came back with this blog that originally started as a place to talk about my love for volunteering which then changed to my working for Cancer Research UK.

Back to the time I gave up tea and coffee for 30 days in aid of Cancer Research in memory of those I had lost. This post is a special one and I’ve barred my soul a bit. You can read that here. And I am also sharing with you my post having completed the 30 days with no tea and coffee and you can read that here.

That concludes another Throwback Thursday… until next time.
